The toughest part of being a nationwide dental consultant is simply distance — we don’t always get as much face-to-face time as we would like with everyone.
That’s why our favorite time of year is the Sunrise Annual Summit, held every Fall for our team and our dental consulting firm members. For 13 years strong, the Summit has given us a chance to work, learn, and socialize face-to-face for three days.
The Highlights of the 2017 Sunrise Annual Summit
What do we do at the Summit? Not to boast, but it’s kind of a big deal. This year, our event was held at the Reagan Library over three days!
Every Summit begins with a welcome reception that is fit for a queen (or king). It began with an upscale experience with the Air Force One White House Luncheon, held under the wings of the retired plane that President Reagan used as Air Force One during his time in office.
Whether you want to go classy with lobster and hor dourves or just cut through some prime rib, we always strive to provide the best for our clients, and a white-glove catered lunch in the Air Force One Pavilion was a great start.
Our Diamond Club (for those who have been with Sunrise for 5 years or more) even featured a full open bar, champagne, and an international cheese table. Did you know there are over 500 types of cheese?!
After a feast like that, we needed a little walkin’ around, so we toured Air Force One and the Reagan Museum and Library. The golfers among us were able to cap off day one with our annual golf tournament.
I usually like to congratulate the winner, but this year we had a three-way tie, and it was a blast to be a part of!
On day two, we were able to focus our attention to some amazing speeches and presentations. If you’re a fan of TED talks, then you’d probably like our speakers. We find the most forward-thinking, trending individuals that look for different solutions to problems that dentists face. I love having some of the brightest minds in our industry all coming together to share their ideas with one another.
We also took the chance to have a smaller gathering on Saturday with our CEO/CFO luncheon. This was a chance for the lead partners and practice owners to talk shop and discuss the paths we want to take over the next year.
Saturday night is like the Oscars for dentists. The climax of the Sunrise Annual Summit is the gala, held this year at the Ojai International Airport.
After another fine dining experience and our awards ceremony, Chris Lomeli provided the entertainment as we moved to the dance floor and socialized. Everyone was raving mad for Lomeli, as he can sing Frank Sinatra, Justin Timberlake, and Michael Jackson. His range and ability are incredible, and I’m so thankful that we were able to snag someone so talented for the Summit.
Don’t miss 2018
The 2017 Sunrise Annual Summit was magnificent — the best one we’ve had yet! We always aim to find a location for our summit that is special, and perhaps a little off the beaten path.
Next year, we’ll be headed to the Grand Marriott in Point Clear, Alabama. It’s a very historic hotel from the 1800’s, when it was a popular destination for the wealthy to vacation. Now it features a golf club and resort with all of the modern comforts you need.
It is truly beautiful, and we hope it is the perfect setting to make the 2018 Sunrise Annual Summit even better than this year’s.
